The steel frame can be repaired by a competent body shop--its a steel box and new steel sections can be replicated and welded in.
There ARE good books for the Sonett V4. Look for the orange Chilton book and the Haynes book. The ultimate resources are the SAAB workshop manuals that are advertised in the Classified section of Nines magazine.
The hoods are all identical-more likely the front end is out of true. The hood removal should be self-evident: disconnect the front lights at the forward connectors; unscrew the bolts and associated hardware; two people lift up and away.
Check out the workshop manuals and VSAAB site for more details. Also go t Mark Ashcraft web site for parts you might need.
