I had the same problem with my Saab 96 using a Pertronix. I concluded it was the pertronix. I contacted the company they had me run a test using my multimeter. I then forwarded them a 5 second video showing the multimeter's readings and they sent me a new one. I had to sent the old one back to them. The car started right up after installation of the new one. Contact Pertronix although my unit was a relatively new one and I had a retailer's receipt.
I would suggest absent talking to Pertronix. Buy some new points, condenser, distributor cap etc. and put them in and see what happens.
