I had a 28/36 DCD Weber 2-barrel on my '67 V-4 with the "short" manifold (the later one for the Solex 2-bbl was taller) and I think it was well worth the price. I also had a 3/4 cam with stock valving and my fuel economy improved despite my tendency toward a heavy foot. The car had gobs of power for the street. Of course the price was a lot less in 1971 when I bought it than it would be today. I think this carb was used on the Cortina Mk2 1600 GT. I don't think the Lotus-Cortina's used it as I think they had two 40 or 45-DCOE side drafts.
