The trick I used was to pull the passenger seat, get comfey on your back using foam or towels, remove the right defroster vent hose out of the way and then reach up throught the lightning hole below the clock and remove both knerl nuts. Its an extra step but have done it several times and is the fastest way to gain access. After removing the U shaped bracket, or it may be 2 seperate L brackets, the clock slips out from the front so you can play with the adjustment. The ground should be terminal on one of the attachment posts so it is the first to come off. Hopefully there is enough wire to the power to disconnect and reconnect once she's out and in the open. Consider extending the wire if not, the disconnect is easy but re reconnect of the powerwire is pretty tough. I played with mine several times and finally replaced it with a later style but still a 2" SAAB unit but without the second hand. I plan to reinstall the original second hand clock once I find a repair shop that will work on it.
