may be able to help,i just started a restoration on a fellows 74 sonett and have one of my own now,a 72.i may have a spare engine.i have owned many saabs over many years and love them.i know where a parts car is sitting[71] in coral gables too.have not been up that way in a while,i,m near homestead but could check and see if its still there.
not to sure what to do about the salt water but what i would do is change all fluids again.then remove seats,carpet,door panels anything you dont want wet.then put car on jack stands,remove wheels and wash the thing with a pressure washer.then do it again.
i dont think it ,the salt water,will hurt the engine/trans as long as you clean it out quickly by changing the oils and fluids.
WD 40 may help remove the water from electrical parts like the starter and the relays
