...So far I have found a place that will machine the upper aspect of the Sonett distributer shaft into a Saab 900 shaft. That will allow addition of a Hall sensor.

I will be getting the distributor shaft back at the end of this week. Then I will transfer the guts from a 900C 1988 distributor into my V4 Bosch distributor. This will also allow me to lose my points, but that is not the primary purpose of this excercise. With the Hall sensor I will be able to wire up the fuel injection system.

I am beginning to label the ECU wires and APC wires and connect fuel injectors. I will then connect to a 12 volt supply and attach the distributer to a drill and measure voltages across the injectors to see if they are working (or I will just listen). If I pass this test I will remove the carb, place a metal box there, place fuel injectors into the box, run air through an air sensor and throttle and see if I can get the car started. If this works, I will drill injection bungs into the manifold and move the injectors to their coresponding manifold ports, and then I will make a custom fuel rail. Finally, if all this works, I will re-route the exhaust to allow use of a turbo, which I will lock at 7PSI as per Jack Lawrence, who feels that anything higher will warp and break the crank. I will use a knock sensor, but at 7PSI it is unlikely it will be needed unless I advance the timing too much.

If this all works, I will have the ECU reprogrammed on a Dyno to optimize performance. I figure with a $300 investment, and no internal engine mods I can hopefully gain 15 WHP.
