Larry--I know Chip sells an excellent replacement hose. That's one way to deal with it.
I've been entertaining the idea of going to DOT 5--silicone fluid--for the clutch system. If I ever do an entire rebuild, there are several pluses. Silicone doesn't remove paint like the other stuff, and when it leaks, and the slightly less positive response is not really an issue for the short length and the relatively low temperature application.
Then, the big risk will shift to putting the wrong fluid in either reservoir!
