Gordon Brundle 914-528-6036.Anyone have anything positive or negative to say about him?He is charging$1000 for a rebuilt 5 spd with a 1 year warranty and$500 for a rebuilt 4 spd with a 1 year warranty. He tells me that the 4 speed can be used on my 5 speed 1983 turboand with a final ratio of .84 it will behave like the 5 speed.Apparently the dipstick and a couple of minor things have to bechanged. (is the final ratio of .78 too severe on the clutch?)Is this correct? Will there be any problems that I should be awareof?Anyway this guy claims that the synchros are made of Brass and wearout; as a result the oil becomes a metallic slurry and eats away atthe bearings. (Brass will not be caught by the magnet) He recommendschanging the transmission fluid every 7500 miles. Is this infocorrect. Also re: Karish's request for a 72-73 trannsmission. He says hecan ship him one for $600. Please call him for details.Sesh MurthyMurthyno39sdcx6spamx782ibm.com Posts in this Thread:
