help ? cv joint/hub in my hands now ...
Posted by Swede Boy (more from Swede Boy) on Wed, 19 Apr 2000 13:41:19

hi

i wonder if anyone might be able to help me at the moment.

I have traced a loud gnashing/clacking sound to inside the little rubber
bellows/thing that sits just behind the front wheel hub. The shaft from the
transaxle comes into bellows, so i guess inside the rubber bellows is the
outer CV joint ?

well, even though the rubber protector is in great health, it seems that
what's inside is not (i come to this briliant conclusion on account of the
clacking and the fact that this hub assembly is nearly impossible to turn by
hand).

should i go and buy a CV joint ? could anyone tell me more or less how to
open/disconnect this bellows to get to the joint inside ?

thank you very much !
