transmission noise
Posted by FlyinV69 (more from FlyinV69) on Thu, 20 Apr 2000 09:33:43
I had the manual transmission and clutch of my 1987 900S rebuilt by a private mechanic. When I got the car back today, I drove to school and noticed that there is a noise when the car is in gear and the clutch is depressed fully. The noise is a sort of whirring, the way manual transmissions sound while going in reverse at high speeds. I don't notice any noise when the clutch isn't pressed in, i.e. when i'm driving, and there is no noise when the transmission is in neutral and the clutch is either out or in. I am calling my mechanic tomorrow, but any suggestions any of you have will be greatly appreciated.
