pause on acceleration
Posted by Cort D (more from Cort D) on Sun, 11 Jun 2000 23:41:05
I need some help, my wife's 89 9000T has a new problem, discovered/developed just today (and we are going on vacation in two weeks). Symptoms are; when you start to accelerate the car does not want to go, it will idle happily but would rather do this than pull from say a stop sign into traffic. The symptom/problem lasts a minuet or less and is gone. I have looked and listened to the car for vacuum leaks, disconnected or loose wires/hoses, checked the distributor cap for cracks or other problems along with the ignition system. Once I got it to do this in the garage, move throttle and it hesitates/ let go it idles fine. To me it seems as if there is fuel starvation, however it runs fine at high rpm/load, (or if a carburetor that there is a flat spot but it is FI) it is only low rpm/medium load which causes the problem, and then only momentarily.
ANY help appreciated.
