Disabling and Removing Explosive Pre-Tensioners
Posted by Trevor Boicey (more from Trevor Boicey) on Sun, 23 Jul 2000 00:33:57
I am restoring a 1958 MG ZB Magnette, and am almost done, just the interior to install.
I have chosen to use Saab seats and seatbelts, because the original seats are simply not confortable enough, no matter how much I want to stay original.
I was told the seats are from a Saab 9000, and are wonderful, except one problem: They still have the explosive pretensioners attached.

...since this car has no way of using the units, I want to safely remove and dispose of them. (ok, so after I remove them I might set them off to watch, but that's another story)
How would I go about removing them?
Thanks.
