'Shift Up' indicator

Does anyone know of a relatively simple way to disable the 'Shift Up'
indicator? It was broken on my older Saab so I didn't have to worry
about it then but now I do... and if I'm cruising at 35 mph it wants me
in 5th. Yeah right =)
