No they aren't. I got caught short this year (i.e. our first snow before I put on the dedicated snow tires) and their performance wasn't too bad. But that was Indianapolis's first snow of the season and I am terrified to drive here during the first snow so I drive ultra-cautiously. Not that snow bothers me - went to college in Maine and did a lot of driving on damn near bald tires - but the Hoosier view is 'oh a blizzard -- driving is bad and I can't see where I'm going so I'd better speed to get home before it gets dangerous.'
