LAST CALL SOC02 first meeting this Saturday!
Posted by Phil Lacefield Jr. (more from Phil Lacefield Jr.) on Thu, 27 Sep 2001 23:14:01
Sorry for the runabout way of contacting everyone, but it appears my mail
server has taken a mighty crapper and lost my TSSC and SOC02 mailing lists
for now. Sigh. So I found an old version of the TSSC list, and I'm just
gonna have to post the last call to TSN and Turbo! and hope everyone sees
it. If you are a member of the Tri State Saab Club and know how to get
ahold of other TSSC members, please forward this to them immediately - I'd
rather some folks get this notice four or five times than not at all!

That's right, last call for initial volunteers! This Saturday, 29
September, we'll be having the first organizational meeting of the locals to
start planning the 2002 Saab Owners' Convention here in Cincinnati. So far
we've got a whole horde of fine folks showing up from all over the place,
and you're invited! It's at Chez Lacefield in Middletown, Ohio, snuggled
right between Dayton and Cincinnati and just two miles off I-75. We'll
start the searing of dead cow flesh at noonish, and sit around and toss
ideas around the table for a couple of hours and hopefully get some
volunteers. Bring a pad and pen, and the wife and kids if you like (I have
a big yard and a PS2, so they'll have lots to do...) and some form of
covered dish so we'll all eat like kings (looks to be about 25 people
showing up so far.) If you're planning on attending and haven't already
done so, PLEASE REPLY TO ME at philno39sdcx6spamx782lacefield.com tonite or tomorrow, so I
know how many burgers to buy! Directions will follow below.

Come on folks, the time is now to make the 20th Annual SOC a thing of
beauty, one to remember, etc. etc.! And we just can't do it without your
help.

DIRECTIONS TO CHEZ LACEFIELD:

>From Cincinnati:
Take I-75 north to the Middletown exit, St Rt 122. Loop back west under the
interstate and go dead straight (Grand Avenue) exactly two miles. We're at
3907 Grand on the right.

>From Dayton:
Take I-75 sout to the Middletown exit, St Rt 122. Turn right off the exit
and go dead straight (Grand Avenue) exactly two miles. We're at 3907 Grand
on the right.

>From Indy and Points West:
(this one is tricky, so pay attention)
Take I-70 east through Indiana. Once you cross into Ohio, take the very
first exit, US 35 east. It turns into Main Street in Eaton, keep following
it east. A couple of blocks past the courthouse you'll see a right turn for
St Rt 122, turn right there and follow 122 for about 15 miles across the
river into Middletown. 122 dead ends into Main Street in Middletown, turn
right and take a quick left onto First Ave. Go through about seven lights
to Supthin Street (bank and little bitty pharmacy on the corners.) turn
right onto Supthin; it bears left up a hill and becomes Grand Ave. Go about
a mile, we're at 3907 Grand on the left.

Look for the obvious Swedish flag or something out front...

See you there!

Phil
