Subject: can anyone help us?
=================
Hello.
We have a Saab 9000 CDturbo 1992 5speed. We bought the car from a auction
about a month ago, the car is in excellent shape and cond ition, we drove it
home from the auction house it drive with not a single problem. We drove for
about two more weeks and not a problem.
Last monday when to started in the morning and the (TCS) traction control
light come on, the rpm's fall to less than 300 and will missfire, can't keep
the engine running. I ask the local dealer if is a way to disconect this
traction control unit an where is located and they refuse to give us any
information except that we need to bring the car to them. One dealer say's
that is a button in the dash pannel to disengage the TCS, but in reality
there is no button or anything at the dash related to the TCS. We made
several calls to other dealers out of state and they say that the TCS is
related to the ABS, but the ABS was check recently by a certifed mechanic and
pass with flying colors.
We try to get some back history of this car but all we could find is that the
radiator ,battery, turbo, brakes, lines and calipers and fluids where replace,
Also the transmission was replace from a 'AUTOMATIC to a MANUAL'. The
mechanic that perform this job will not give any help.
Please we need help can anyone help us?
We need to know if this is a very costly repair? over $1500?
Can anyone describe how and why is affecting the engine and where is located
the TCS box?
Can someone guide me throuh so I can get this car fix?
Thank You
Peter & Lori

P.S.
I have a good mechanical knowledge in engines.
I am a retired Diesel Tech.
Also this is not the only Saab we have we also own a 9000T 87
