Hej, tack så mycket Dan,
...but (OW! My ears!) I think I'm personally gonna stick to some other Swedish
artists (with whom Saab-list members may or may not be familiar) who fall into
the slightly less than... uh, 'thrash-your-gearbox-and-burn-rubber' school of
performance.
For anyone on-list who is a) not already sufficiently Swedish in their outlook
and b) remotely interested but unfamiliar with anything beyond the ubiquitous
'Dancing Queen' by ABBA, pleased be advised that like their automobile marques,
some of the world's best music - in all genres - just happens to be Swedish
(something in the water mayhap?), and what's more, a plethora of great CDs may
be ordered online with ease from several sources, including Swedish sites
(usually much cheaper than amazon.com or cdnow.com) such as www.ginza.se and my
personal pick - www.skivhugget.se - (which even features an handy-dandy English
page for easy ordering).
As Swedish music in all its myriad styles is something of a hobby of mine (like
the cars and the language - and, and, and...) I invite anyone who is curious
about where to start with Swedish music to email me offlist for a
summary/artists' links and some .mp3 samples if so desired.
Det är någonting melodisk från Sverige för alla manniskör!
(There's something musical from Sweden for everyone.)
