Subject: washer problem, phase 2 ================= thnx to those who gave suggestions to my lame washer ELECTRICAL circuit. i tried adding a simple 12VDC relay in the circuit, so the wiper switch operates only the low current draw relay, and the relay juices the washer motor. but for whatever reason, it was uncooperative. so it was time to get evil on this 16 year old 900T.
i ran a 14 gage from the main fusible link to the washer pump motor (fuse inline), and then from there into the cockpit via the pass. side door jamb. this goes to a momentary-on switch on the dash just behind the wiper switch, which connects to ground when actuated. you push the button for 2-4 seconds, get blue juice as needed, then hit the wiper switch as before. now i can also really douse the windshield, if needed.
in new jersey it is state law that you can't pump your own gas, so we still have gas station attendants that once in a million years will clean your windshield. i guess you could squirt them (without operating the wipers) if really bored during a fill up.
