91 900 Turbo automatic to manual conversion
Posted by Jack Brooks (more from Jack Brooks) on Wed, 18 Aug 1999 15:21:10
I have an opportunity to pick up a 1991 900 Turbo convertible which appears to have been well cared for. The car has 125,000 miles and just blew the AUTOMATIC tranny. I am trying to get a handle on the cost of buying a Saab or aftermarket rebuilt MANUAL tranny, as well as an idea of what I am getting into doing the swap myself.
I know conversion of automatic to manual was a recent thread, which I read, but didn't save as I knew I would not have occasion to do it. Now, however....
Can someone help me out? I am comfortable with pulling the engine, if required, but am concerned about the electronics and/or wiring and special tools, associated with the auto to manual conversion.
Thanks,
