I grew up in Saabs!  Born in 1973 I was carted around in 2 blue 99's in the UK.
In 1979 my folks ordered one of the first fuel injected 900 Gli's from Sweden,
to Australian spec, picked it up in the UK and shipped it to Western Australia
when we migrated later on in 1979.

That car then did nearly 400,000kms, much of it on gravel roads as we were
farming in a remote area.  It often carted hay bales and chased sheep!!

I inherited the car in 1989 as a first car.  It (very sadly) only lasted 3
months in my inexperienced hands before I hit a tree at 120kmh.  But being a
Saab, I didn't even get whiplash!!!  A minor scratch to a finger was my only
injury.  Old yella never survived though.

I now have a midnight blue 1990 900 EMS (900 S in US?) with all the fruit and
144,000kms.  It is in pristine nick and I aim to keep it for all time!
