This may not be the root of the problem, but in any event check the upper strut mounts. In bad pothole collisions, the rubber mount may tear away from the steel casing. Under the hood, look on the right and left side for the strut tower with the strut shaft with large nut and 1 1/2 inch washer. Under the washer, the rubber mount can be seen. It may be visibly torn. Bounce up and down on the front end to expose it totally. Tim
