Hi Joe,
You have a classic ground problem at one or both of the rear taillight
assemblies. If you inspect the connectors at the back to light
assemblies, I am sure you will find the ground wire melted/corroded.
The fix is to perform a ground bypass. Drill a small "1\8 inch or so"
hole in the back of the assemblies and thread in a piece of 14 gauge
wire. Attach the wire to the ground bus via soldier or a self tapping
screw. Now ground the wire to the car body. This should fix the
problem.
