Saab will not acknowledge a gearbox problem because there isn't one known to exist. Your car is way of out the warranty period and Saab has no reason to pay for your repairs - if Saab went around paying for out of warranty repairs for everyone they would go broke. 160,000km is a decent amount of miles and I am not surprised that yours needs a rebuild. Very few cars on the road will go much more than that without needing some sort of work. Regular maintenace, and being gentle with your transmission will definitely extend its life, but eventually *all* cars will need some sort of transmission work. You can post away to your heart's content, but I have a very distinct feeling no one is going to do anything about it. -Justin '84 900T '85 900T '88 900T '88 SPG '90 900T '90 SPG and an '86 9000T
