Two dumb questions: 1. What did they do to "temporarily" fix the brake light switch, and what did that have to do with the steering wheel? Aren't you referring to the switch on the brake pedal that turns on the brake lights when you press the pedal? Just sounds odd to me. 2. Did you try putting back the relay they removed? Any difference? Maybe they accidentally pulled of another wire while digging around in there? Ground connection? Air mass sensor?
