Subject: Re: 900 warm up
Hi Gerald!
My car is a 1987 Saab 900i and the problem with the warm up sounds familiar
to me. I think, you are in the right direction with replacing the warm up
regulator and the auxiliary air valve. What you schould do next is measure
the control-pressure on the cold and warm engine or even better watch how the
control pressure changes while the engine is warming up. All you need to do
this is a manometer (0-6 bar) and some connecting equipment. A manometer for
measuring airpressure works fine. You can know adjust the control-pressure.
(The adjustment is done with a screw and tiny spacerdiscs on the "Kraftstoff
Mengenteiler", I dont know the english word for this. If you need the exakt
adjustment procedure or just the values of the control-pressure, send me a
mail. But there schould be something about that in your manual about the
Bosch K-Jetronic injektion system?
If the control-pressure is to low, the engine runs to rich.
There is a temparature switch in the coolant cycle and a switch for the a/c.
Both are in connction with the fuel and air system. But I do not remember
exactly, what these switches do. I will have a look in my documentation for
the K-Jetronic. Let me know, if your problem persists.
Good luck
Edgar Zimmermann
