The Volvo WHIPS system is far superior to the SAHR system that Saab uses. Whereas the Saab system just moves the headrest up and forward to protect the head, the Volvo system uses the seat plus the headrest to help prevent whiplash injuries. Also, Volvo was tested to have the best headrests on the market period. Which of the two companies invented the most important safety innovation of all time? No it was not Saab, it was Volvo who invented the 3-point seat belt that has saved more lives than another other safety innovation. It's the 40th anniversary of the Volvo invention.
