The reason is that Mobil 1 is rated 0W, and the engine in my 84 900 needs 10W-40. No wonder so many of you get oil leaks! I know that your local dealers will tell you that the oil they use is Mobil, but remmember that 99% of the cars they are dealing with are nearly new models. My local parts shop used to stock a 10W Mobil oil but now they don't. I guess the reason is that nobody uses the stuff since all you are paying for is the $$$$$$$ they put into F1 and stupid adverts on the telly about love. Look at the end of the day there are only 2 possible reasons why Mobil put 0W on the can. 1) It really is 0W and hence is far to thin for a SAAB that should have 10W. 2) Mobil are liars and are using some concocted policy for descibing their oils. I would use Castrol GTX or Magnetec. I can get both substantially cheaper than Mobil 1 and have found that they really do perform.
