The only thing I've ever been able to come up with on this is the fact that, in the early (for America) days of radial tires, it was almost universally and strongly represented that radials "took a set" (whatever that was supposed to mean) to rotating one direction and that to change their direction of rotation would damage them. That has not been mentioned with respect to radials anywhere I know of in a long time. However, perhaps Saab believes there is something to the notion. Another possibility that is more plausible to me is that perhaps some models came/come with directional wheels that ought to rotate one direction for air flow over the brakes (my CRX had such wheels). Wither way, do your tires wear evenly? If so, keep doing what you're doing. --Eoin
