The easiest way to tell is that 2.4 only has two wires, and the AMM housing is made of black plastic instead of the silver metal that LH 2.2 AMMs are... The connector should have also changed. Additionally, the idle control valve (the metal cylinder attached to the intake manifold, between the valve cover and the manifold) will have two wires on LH 2.4 and three wires on LH 2.2. I'm 99.9% sure '87s had 2.2... -Justin
