Very difficult to remove the molding without tearing it apart.  I replaced
it on my car (just for fun, there was some rubber broken of but it wasn't
really necessary) and it took quite some patience to remove one from another
car.  Especially since your car is an 85 meaning the molding being there for
14 years allready.
Maybe you'd better look for another molding.
