Once you start driving, it is then varied according to the average consumption over the last 10 min (from memory) updated every minute. You can notice it if you do an uphill bit then a long downhill stretch: the DTE will start increasing even though you are travelling along, because the fuel consumption rate is improving. My actual consumption varies greatly: best I have got is 6.9 l/100km (40.95 mpg imp gals) on a 300 km freeway trip at 110kmph average (69mph). Around the city, I get 10 to 10.5 l/100km (27-28mpg), and if I am in a hurry in the city, 12 to 14 l/100km (20-24mpg). -- Regards, Peter Wilkins (wilkinspnopsamnet.au)
