Sounds like you might have the temp guage rod disconnected. If you remove the left speaker grill check to see if the rod that connects the temp dial is moving. Unless you have long arms you might need a helper. The middle vent only blows cold air, I think it was one of Saabs safety features that will keep the driver alert. I hope this helps. dp
