Subject: Re: Tires for '90 900 SPG stick with 205/55VR15 or change back to 195/60VR15.

Donīt you have narrow winter tries for this car to compare? Maybee not in Austraila- lucky guy! Ok, here we go: the 195/60 was standard equipment on the 900 and work well, especially at 165hp! Thereīs enough front traction and the handling is progressive and fine, it still has fine response on driving inputs. The roughness differs very much from tire to tire, very new tires are firm and comfortable (in 205/55 Bridgestone S-02, Dunlop Sport 9000) but expensive. The standard SAAB tire I can recommend on the 900 convertible is the Michelin MXV-3A or the Michelin SX-GT in 195/60. Saab changed from Pirelli to Michelin in 1991. So: handling will be smoother and more progressive, braking behaviour nearly the same and you wonīt feel the expansion joints on the highway that much in your back.. Greetings, RCS PLS: tell me which rims did you use with 205: 6x15 offset 33mm or 5.5x15 /44mm? or even 6.5x16/27mm?
