Is it just me, or does it seem that most of the older Saabs still running are manuals? My '86 900 is a manual is doing fine, mechanically. Is there a problem with the automatic transmissions? The other "rumor" I heard is that the rotors and pads last longer on a car with a manual transmission. Since all I have driven are manuals, I have no concept of how long an automatic transmission should last or how long a set of rotors should last. I got over 100,000 miles on my front rotors and just replaced my rear rotors at 170,000.
