Andy....I ran a '92 9000CS 2litre auto for a while, and sold it because I too was nervous about the auto box. I was later advised, by a Saab dealer, that the box normally only gives problems on the 2.3 turbo. Having said that, the car was (in my opinion) pretty under-powered for its weight. I've read of a couple of instances of very expensive repairs in the UK. No doubt someone will now come up with a 2.3 turbo auto with 300k miles under its belt! Tim H.
