Subject: Re: transmission fluid or oil in gearbox?

I'd get the ATF out. IMO, it doesn't have enough body to protect these gearboxes especially when they've got over 100K on them. I use synthetic engine oil, perhaps a little extravagent, but cheaper than a new box and much easier to fit!
