Ron, Had the same problem with my 900 1989. I took it to the shop and they did a diagnostic and said it was my oxygen sensor and screwed me for $400. (didnt fix the problem) Try tapping on the mass air flow meter. Its a black box-like thing that is the first thing after the air intake comes out of the air filter. If tapping on it makes it better or worse when it is stalling, try to find a used one at a yard b/c they are like $300 new. I had a yard send one to me for $100 and it took like 30 seconds to replace. Hope that helps. Dave
