I have an 86 900 with the 8v engine, with 104k miles on it. The car runs well and has a lot of power, except, soon after starting. Whenever I start it cold, the engine catches immediately, but then it won't idle. It will die after a few seconds unless I keep my foot on the gas. After revving at about 2000-3000 rpm for a minute, then the engine will idle fine. Anytime before that, it is an erratic mess. I thought it was the cold start valve , but after reading a Haynes 900 guide, I am a bit confused. Does anyone have a suggestion for me? Thank you in advance.
