Fred, I had a similar problem for years (read my other messages in this NG). Recently I pulled the light switch knob from the dash, cleaned it and made sure all wires are secure and put it back in; so far, for two weeks things are fine. I'm inclined to think that the problem is located in or around the light switch. Give this a try and let us know.
