I wonder why battery life is so random. I live in Northern New Jersey, which is ideal for long battery life. As far as Japanese cars, a friend who is into Toyotas claims that ever since they started making them here (US), the quality is not as good as those manufactured in Japan. Now that the myth of the Japanese super-worker has been exposed, does that still hold true? I have a few further questions on batteries: (1) They sell "sealed" batteries, so does that mean they need no topping up of the distilled water in the cells? (2) I have some blue/white powdery crystals forming on the positive bettery post. What is that? Is it detrimental to battery performance? Thanks if you can answer. VS
