Subject: Saab 9000T ignition problems

I have an 11 year old Saab 9000T which have just stopped on me. Over the past 3 weeks the engine has began to cut out whilst idling (waiting for the 30 sec to stop the engine after a long journey) and once whilst cruising, but on all occasions the engine restarted. But now it has refused to restart. The engine turns over but does not start. I have check the spark plugs (new a week old) and found them covered in petrol (probably flood engine trying to start it) so I assume that the fuel pump is operating OK. So I am assuming it's the direct ignition unit. But what troubles me is that it appears to be an intermittent fault (like a loose connection, but I have checked the wiring and cannot see any obvious signs of a corroded connection. Any ideas?
