Valves wear, like everything else inside your engine. After 100k miles, they can't be like new. Since there is a substantial amount of labor involved in replacing a head gasket, I'd do the valves too. Likewise, the seals still work, but if you've gone to all the trouble of pulling the head, why not renew them ? The amount of additional labor to spin the valves and/or change the seals is minimal. Might as well do it while the head is off. As always, IMHO, Bob
