Dunno about how the replacements do, but it is an all too common problem
of the 9-3. For some reason, the distribution drum behind the centre
console becomes stiff and as the plastic shaft+knob you have to use to
turn it aren't exactly strong they just end up snapping.
4-5 days does seem a long time though...
