The UK second hand car market is somewhat volatile at the moment due to the lower European prices for many new cars. But the UK secondhand prices drops much quicker than in e.g. in Denmark. I the UK it is often a choice between a new personal import or a good secondhand at around half price. I think that in the UK, too much emphasis is put on the age of the car as this is prominent from the registration letter (the dealers love it); a recent letter suggest success and prosperity. IMO the actual state of the car is much more important, since these days cars are potentially very durable (some more than others). In the 60' ties or 70' ties the cars simply just withered away; after 3-4 years you could have some nice ventilation holes. Johannes
