The warmup/cool down I refer to is giving the oil a few seconds to get to the bearings before spinning it up, and allowing it to spin down before you switch off. You probably all do this without even realising. how many of you floor the gas as soon as the engine and keep teh revs above 3K rpm for more then a second or so. How many of you switch teh engine off above 3K. not many. I bet you all startup and pull out into teh road before flooring it, and pull into your driveway slowly. This is all the time it takes with good oil pressure!
