Guten Morgen, Thomas. First, remove the fender sensors (torx T30 tamper proof bit required). Clean the connections to ground and unplug the electrical connectors. Put contact grease (silicone contact grease) on the screws, contact faces of the sensor. Also clean with a cotton swap the 3 pin connector and also pack some contact grease here as well. Then take it to the shop and have them reset it. Make sure that they tell you which sensor was at fault. If it comes back on, then assume that that sensor previously noted is at fault and needs to be replaced. Sorry that it is not better news. I just went through this with my white '92 and am going through it with my red one. Tja! > > A/C doesn't work, fuse is already checked. The compressor won't start (i don't hear it, if i press the knob), A/C devices look quite new. Probably low coolant. Short the low pressure sensor (on the dryer in teh RHS fender). If the compressor engages, it is low freon and you need to find out where it leaked out and then get it fixed or converted over to R134A. > where to look first ? i'm electrician, but not a car electrician :) > > you people in the US seem not to listen to FM radio, uh ? the us-clarion stereo changes frequencies in 200kHz-steps. here in europe > 50 or 100 kHz steps are usual, so i can't listen to most radio stations. anyone knowing how to change this? > If you take the radio out of the car (2 u shaped hooks) there SHOULD be a switch on the radio to switch between the US frequencies and the europena frequencies. If it is not visible, open the cover with a small screwdriver and look for a switch. I cannot be of more help here because mine is a '92 and has a different radio. > the right front wheel makes noises, if i drive over something... maybe this is caused by the mounting rubbers of the shocks (someone > else here had this prob!) a colleague told me, if this is true the shocks may break soon. ??! probably won't break, but the bushes are cheap and easy to replace. THey are 6.00 each at the dealer here. Replace both of them. You will need an 18mm wrench, jack stands and a floor jack to compress the spring to replace the shock after the bushing is replaced. Sehr einfach. > > the engine is for 87 octane. i wonder if i can change something in the motor electronics to have more performance, since our regular > gas here has 91 octane, premium has 95, ans super premium has 98 :) > If it is a NA (non Turbo), you will probably find that the car performs better with middle grade gas (my '89 did). The car has a knock sensor which modifies timing according to gas grades. Turbos have a similar system, but modulates turbo boost to accomodate lower grade gasoline. > here in germany, one has to pay more taxes for a car, the more it pollutes. since the car as a catalyst, i wonder which german pollution > class i could enter with the car. the ¥93 900s have the class E2, i think, and mine has not, i think the catalysts are the same. saab > germany didn't answer me so far. > Not sure here. AFAIK, the 89-93 Saab had the same engine controls and SHOULD be the same specification for pollution standards. > thanks in advance. Kein Problem. Viel Gluck!
