I had my 96 900 at the dealers and they said the reason for the Check Engine light being on was a fault in the secondary air injection pump. Their Scan tool gave out this error message. I took the pump off and found that it was not operating. I replaced it with a used one (checked that it worked before installing by connecting the wires and hearing it run when the engine started). After finishing the installation I expected the check engine light to go out but it did not. Does the Check Engine light have to be reset by the dealer using the Scan tool? Anybody know the answer to this? thanks in advance
