Car washes are bad because they use very aggressive soaps to remove the dirt quickly. Most also remove the wax with it. Most recycle water so you get washed in essentially dirty water. The 'touchless' type are good because there is no scratching, but they use even more aggressive soaps to remove dirt without contact. Unfortunately, many of us live where the Winters are too cold to wash year round. I lean towards the 'touchless' and risk losing my wax as opposed to the brush/cloth type where you get scratched. Be careful, black shows every little scratch. BTW - you'll probably spend around $75 to get rolling with the quality of stuff they recommend out at Autopia.com, but you'll be good for a few years worth of treatments and the quality will be better than what you'll get anywhere else.
