I maintain the oil in my Saab myself, but I can't stand the thought of climbing under that car again this winter. I've heard a bypass oil filter will extend my oil changes and if so, I'm gonna get one. Gulf Coast says 6,000 miles between oil changes, but they use toilet paper rolls. Yikes? I really liked www.OilGuardFilters.com because they explained all about oil characteristics, etc. and they claim 10,000. The OilGuard also looks like a better unit. So, anyone own a bypass oil filter? Will it keep me out from under my car for six months or so? Thanks.
