I really wanted to stay out of this (especially given the cross posting) I have a little news for you. Oil is (to a certain extent) supposed to get dirty. It has detergent qualities, and if its not then the crap is not being dissolved and eventually taken out of the engine. This is a gross oversimplification, but it is helpful to a degree to understand a point. Anyone who suggests changing oil this infrequently is a fool, unless you hardly drive the bloody thing. Ok this fact aside, the comments elsewhere re mobil 1 are 100% on the money - half the price and all the 'goods'. I am in Australia, and local performance places (well the ones that know) back 100% the fact that it should not (that is any synthetic) be used with roller lifters. Think about things from this point of view - oil companies - what do tyhey do? oil and fuel products right? thats what they do, what they specialise. What has been suggested elsewhere is something akin to getting McDonalds to supply your oil. McDonalds aren't oil specialists and so anything they do do would be at this point either relabelled (and marked up) oil from another company, or oil that comes from a place that has maybe 0.1% the R&D budget to actually coem up with a better product. I use Mobil 1 in some turbocharged cars, I have used a quality mineral oil in one turbocharged car (guess which group I post to). No premature failures or anything. There is no point spending twice as much for the same or lesser product end of story. -- John McKenzie tosspamnopsamcom abusenopsamcom abusenopsamo.com abusenopsamail.com abusenopsamcom abusenopsamnt.com abusenopsamhlink.com fraudinfonopsamet.com sweep.daynopsam.gov.au ucenopsamgov adminnopsamback $LOGINnopsamlhost $LOGNAMEnopsamlhost $USERnopsamlhost $USERnopsamT -h1024nopsamlhost rootnopsamloop.com
